An important thing a bride needs for her wedding is flowers. While wedding flowers are fun and beautiful, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to use them. Here are some suggestions.

The most obvious is the bride’s bouquet, but don’t forget the bridesmaids, as well as an extra bouquet for tossing. Maid bouquets can all be identical, or each one can be a little different. These are usually scaled-down versions of the bridal bouquet, using many of the same, but fewer flowers. This also applies to the extra bouquet for tossing.

You will likely want to have corsages and boutonnieres for groomsmen, family members, your wedding officiant, etc. Those who get corsages and boutonnieres is up to you. Use similar flowers for both the groom/groomsmen boutonnieres and the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Corsages for mothers, grandmothers, etc. are usually made with two or three of the flowers featured in the bridal bouquet.

A flower girl will look angelic with a halo of flowers on her head. Bridesmaids can also have a ring of flowers, or one or two blossoms tied in their hair. Don’t forget some flowers or petals for the flower girl’s basket.

Flower arrangements can add beauty to many areas of your wedding location. For a formal church wedding, elegant urns filled with formal arrangements placed at the front will look lovely. Baskets flowing with long stems in an outdoor garden look equally as beautiful.  A small arrangement for the Guest Book Table and the Gift Table will help to complete your floral design. Simple vases of flowers add a special touch to restrooms too.

The aisle can also be decorated with flowers. Small floral arrangements can be added to the pews on the aisles of a church. For an outdoor ceremony, create a bridal aisle with "shepherd's hooks" sticking securely into the grass, with baskets of flowers hanging on the hooks.
