The heart-leaf philodendron is a very forgiving tropical plant. It is also a low-light plant, making it possible to grow these guys in places where other plants may not survive.
I’ve seen philodendrons thrive when growing in an east window–this offers a few hours of direct light in the morning, and less intense light the rest of the day. They would also do well in a north facing window. A south facing window, however, may be too bright.
These guys are very easy to propagate. Take cuttings in spring or summer and root them in either water or regular potting soil.
